salm necklace socks Outside the XY: QueerThe SALM series was inspired by a German painting from the late fifteenth century of a woman wearing a necklace of gothic script. Through researching medieval Latin paleography texts, the abbreviation SALM which means health was discovered, making these pieces a a talisman and token of well being and good luck to the wearer. SALM is handmade from individually carved wax links which are cast into sterling silver and soldered and finished in Ridgewood.
