Pulled from my travel sketchbook is this ink and marker piece created while watching three hens wander through the grass

Featuring 12 different colored cowboy and cowgirl boots it's large enough to catch the eye

Pulling in details from local signage and adding in the cactus that has long since overgrown its space

While the heeler is still with me

Now imagine the Wyoming landscape as the other plants are fading

Ocotillo #6 Framed Pulled from my travel sketchbookThe strangest plant I've ever seen. On that same camping trip as the Yucca print describes, I sketched a handful of ocotillo's. With their heavily textured appearance it can be difficult to know how much detail to include and how much to leave out in order to portray the right image. Using a rocking motion with the carving tool I was able to give it texture and life.
