William "Big Bill" Jordan, c1900. Celebrations; Government; Living Conditions Photograph of horse and buggyA portrait of Mr. William "Big Bil" Jordan of Blyth, Northumberland, England. Big Bill stood 6'4", came to Dawson in 1897 and formed the Yukon Goldfields Ltd. with others. He left the Yukon in 1904 to recuperate in Blyth after loosing his toes on one foot. He then travelled to Johannesberg and died of fever. His wife, Priscilla died in 1951 at the age of 92.
