A supply laden barge is tied to the bow of the sternwheeler. The boat flies the "Royal Mail", "B. Y. N. Co." (British Yukon Navigation Company) and Canadian flags. The Casca was built in Whitehorse in 1937, 1,300 tons, by the B. Y. N. Co. The machinery from Casca #2 was salvaged and used to build the #3.
